With savory pot pies, braised oxtails with mashed potatoes and banana cream pie, Liberty Cafe is a shrine to American cooking. Owner Cathie Guntli designed an interior that has a warm country feel, right down to the tongue-and-groove siding. There's also a cottage and deck in back for enjoying the often nice Bernal Heights weather. It's also a great place for weekend brunch.
