Las Vegas Hotels - The Definitive Guide by - John Romano
Travelocity Hot Deal:
Here is my take on upscale Las Vegas Hotels:
1. Wynn Las Vegas - When Steve Wynn isn't putting his elbow through Picasso paintings he runs a great hotel. Expensive but worth it.
2. The Venetian - Great rooms, occasssionally great rates, terrific food and a friendly staff. The Venetian is somewhat of an independent company and has a small business attitude compared to The MGM/Mandalay Bay goliath.
3. The Off Strippers - Red Rocks, Hard Rock, Palm and Rio. They all rock and are great fun.
4. The Big Three - Caesar's, Mandalay Bay and the Bellagio - With the addition of Wynn and the Venetian, Vegas now has a total of five 5-star properties. Wynn just opened and the Venetian is #1, so here is a break down of the remaining big five:
- Caesar's - A classy hotel with many a high roller and great service. The Forum shops are a great place to dine or shop.
- The Bellagio - A beutiful hotel, but kind of a show peice for everyone to walk through. If you are going upscale choose Bellagio last.
- Mandalay Bay - the secluded Mandalay Bay complex is truly a getaway worth the money. If you are looking for a "peaceful" Vegas experience choose the Mandalay Bay.
5. Paris Las Vegas - The little brother (in theory and theme) to the Venetian packs a fun punch and really does a good job distinguishing itself from the other mega-casinos.
